In recent times , we have watched a major rush towards the employment sector . Undergraduates , Graduates , Postgraduates, even school going students are interested in having top-notch employment. But , we all know , to gain a job or to make a career we either need a degree from a highly reputed college or skills .
” What are skills ? And why do we need them to get a job ? “
Skills are actually what we call talent . To be expert or highly professional in a particular set of action , task , work or job. In other words , Skills are what makes a person aplomb and positive towards the work they do or what they have done . To show or present their qualities with a one hundred percent assurity .
To have an education and meet eligibility is one thing but to have skills is another. You can have education from a very prestigious school/college and still lack in the skills department . To make a career , you may not always need the best of what you learnt theoretically but you definitely will need what you learnt from other sources to enhance your abilities . So , sometimes when you are not the person with outstanding grades but having the perfect set of skills for a particular field can land you a job or career more easily than a person with an A grade but no knowledge of the work to be done.
“Can you land a career solely based on your skills without a degree or a perfect education ?”
The answer can be Yes and No . You can start your own career by becoming an entrepreneur or start freelancing with the right people. You don’t always need a particular degree to define your skills and qualities . There are many fields and companies who give preference to the more skilled candidate than a candidate with a degree.
But does that mean you should stop proceeding with your education ?
No , because sometimes education plays as much role in gaining a job just like the skills do. To have proper education and knowledge here means to have an idea about the particular field of the company you’re about to start work with . If you have the right set of skills , your knowledge and education about that field will only enhance and polish your work .

These are the basic skills which may actually help you to land a job and are necessary for the workplace environment . This usually involves your communication and management skills as
as well as how you interact with your colleagues .
