Creative writing is a writing skill that looks at the author story style, where formality is not required. The need for imajination, uniqueness, bold character’s name, good settings and others are kinds of creative writing skills. Nowadays people has their own platform to write anything they want through the internet. With the boom of writing platforms, people around the world starting to write their own story without hesitation. The opportunity is there for all, and if you want to improve your creative writing skills here’s my advices;

1. Get out of the existing rules. Don’t let other people’s rules rule you. Free the ideas that are in your mind.
2. Create a distinctive storytelling style. Readers love a writing style that is unique and easy to remember. Usually readers will recognize the writing style of each author. Be careful not to copy other writers’ writing styles!
3. Make the main character stand out. The main character in your story is important to grab the reader’s attention. They are what make readers want to read your work immediately. Before creating the whole storyline, remember to create the main character first!
4. Creative writing skills is a journey and it is ok to have various writing styles. The change is inevitable and I believe that each writing styles has its own meaning for you at that time. Don’t be afraid about change, trust your writing process, ok!
