“Tell me about yourself” or “introduce yourself”

The question about introducing yourself is the most common question in an interview, and mostly it always becomes the first question asked. 

By asking the question, the interviewers want you to introduce yourself briefly. This aims to tell the company in a short time about your personality and show your enthusiasm. 

Therefore, at the time of self-introduction, as much as possible tell a little about your strengths and their relation to the motivation to apply to the company, which aims to attract the interviewer’s attention and will become a topic of the interview in the future. 

So, how should you introduce yourself?

Easy, you introduce yourself by giving information about yourself. Tell them your name even though it is already in your resume/CV, but it will be better you tell them so that they can remember you and sometimes call you by your name. After that, tell them about your educational background. You may explain why you chose the major and tell them what you learned while in college. 

If you’re done in telling about your educational background, now you can go telling about your work experience and what you achieved. If you are a fresher, maybe you don’t have work experience, so you can share your organizational experience or internship experience. 

In order to further convince HR that you are the right candidate, you can explain the skills you have that are relevant to the job you are applying for. Expand your skill-set.

Introduce yourself briefly, concisely, and clearly when introducing yourself in front of the interviewer, avoid giving too long an explanation, let alone adding information that is not related to professional experience. Try to convey an introduction that contains information according to the needs of the job.
