Established in 1936, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences was known as Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai). 2) IIT Bombay – Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai:
IIT Bombay was established in 1958 and is the second Indian Institute of Technology on the list after IIT Kharagpur. The institute is ranked as the topmost IIT in the QS rankings 2021 with a position of 172 in the global rankings. In addition to this, as per the list released by the QS World Rankings 2022, IIT Bombay is the top institute in India securing its rank at 177.
IITB is also ranked 4th in the NIRF 2020 rankings for its overall performance. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is one of the most prevailing courses and for the same, the institute has been ranked 3rd in the engineering category by the NIRF 2020.

9) College of Forestry, Vellanikkara Highlights
The Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India has identified the Kerala Agricultural University as one of the Institutions to start forestry education programme and accordingly, the College of Forestry was established in this University in 1986. Since then, the College of Forestry was functioning as a constituent college of the Faculty of Agriculture till 2012. However, considering the importance of forestry education, a separate Faculty of Forestry was constituted in 2012. The College presently is under this faculty.
10) Indian Agricultural Research Institute – [IARI], New Delhi:
The journey of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany, and Mycology. The Bacteriology unit was added in 1907. The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earthquake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post-independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).
